GardaWorld offers a competitive daily rate (Contractor will only be paid whilst on-duty – no payment made for Off-duty)

Leave Rotation

6 weeks on, 6 weeks off, subject to operational requirements

Travel Pay

Contractors are not entitled to pay while travelling.

Visa Requirements

The fee for stamping the multiple entry visa onto the passport upon arrival in the airport, will be borne solely by the Contractor.  The approximate cost for this transaction is US$202.


GardaWorld will provide the Independent Contractor with appropriate accommodation, insurance, flights and life support while on duty.

Flight Package

GardaWorld will provide an economy class return ticket per rotation to the project location from a hub airport as close as reasonably practicable to the Contractor’s declared home address.

The Contractor will be asked to declare their preferences for a primary, secondary and tertiary hub airport from the GardaWorld hub list at the commencement of their engagement. Where possible and commercially acceptable, GardaWorld will look to book travel to and from one of the preferred hubs.

The Contractor will be responsible for any travel arrangements between the hub airport and their home address.

Hiring Criteria

  • Must have min of 7 year’s military experience and previous experience in hostile environment (min 2 operational tours)
  • Valid SIA License (Close Protection)
  • In date FPOS-I qualification; and
  • To have attended and passed an accredited CP course.
  • English is first language & physically fit
  • Progressive and relevant management experience.
  • Operational experience in a hostile environment.
  • APT experience.
  • Experience of physical security and guarding operations.
  • Previous Baghdad experience essential.
  • APT Leader experience.

Job Duties

The Operations Manager is responsible for the management, training and operational control of the Mobile personnel assigned to support the Authority in Iraq. He ensures that the project members meet operational and training standards and fully comply with Project SOPs. In addition provides liaison with Authority and its clients for all daily operational issues related to Mobile Security.



  • Full management accountability for operational aspects of delivery of the contract in Iraq.
  • To ensure Journey Management Process on all client moves.
  • To oversee effective training in line with agreed Training Directives and priorities.
  • Maintenance of Authority standards during contract delivery.
  • Maintain management accountability/responsibility for all contract equipment.



  • Maintain and build upon the operational and functional relationship with the client.
  • Provide guidance to the client on security related matters as required.
  • Comply with all Authority reporting requirements.
  • Maintenance of client confidentiality across the contract.
  • Liaise with other agencies as required in support of contract delivery and operational requirements.



  • Relevant management experience on a similar project.
  • Relevant operational experience.


Liaison experience

  • Client handling skills.
  • Training delivery experience.
