Ready to suit up as a Surveillance Security Guard

What matters most about a role like this is your sharp eye, capturing every detail as you scan a series of screens. Your strong observation skills with attention to detail are your greatest strengths. 

As a Surveillance Security Guard, you will be the person spotting threats before they escalate in environments such as security operation centres, call centers, construction sites, parking lots and gatehouses, etc.

Schedule- Monday – Friday 0800-1600 

Location- N1G 4Y2  Guelph

Responsibilities for Surveillance Security Guard

• Monitor and analyze security systems, including CCTV and alarm panels, to detect suspicious activity or potential vulnerabilities.

• Respond immediately to incidents, elevated voices, or potential threats, and de-escalate situations to ensure safe and friendly interactions.

• Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols, including parking lots, to maintain the safety of the premises.

• Greet, inform, direct, and escort visitors, staff, and other users as needed.

• Control access to secure areas, verify visitor identification, and manage the exit of equipment.

• Apprehend offenders, detect and remove undesirable individuals, and coordinate with authorities as necessary.

• Provide assistance and ensure safe evacuation of buildings during emergencies.

• Participate in the transport or escort of valuables.

• Document all incidents, observations, and security activities in detailed reports.

• Collaborate with law enforcement during serious situations or emergencies.

Qualifications for Surveillance Security Guard

• Be authorized to work in Canada
• Hold a valid security license
• First aid certification required
• Reliable transportation
• Full G or G-2 Ontario Driver's license required
• Strong report writing skills
• Good eyesight and excellent ability to maintain focus
• Strong proficiency with technology
• Ability to stand and walk throughout shift
