Employee Engagement Manager (1 year contract)

We are seeking an Employee Engagement Manager in the Central Region. Reporting to the Regional Manager, Human Resources and Labour Relations, the individual will work closely with the leadership team and GardaWorld headquarters to assess, measure and improve employee engagement at all levels of the organization. The role of the Regional Manager, Employee Engagement will be to contribute to existing programs and implement new initiatives that will lead to the creation of a culture of commitment towards customer service and security performance.

 

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct and oversee new employee onboarding material and presentations
  • Organize local and regional employee events (ex: recognition events, Christmas Party, outings, etc.)
  • Draft employee communications, in collaboration with the local teams
  • Promote and publish regular contents on www.gardaworld.me, a WordPress based employee website
  • Support existing employee recognition programs in collaboration with headquarters
  • Lead initiatives and partner with the senior leadership team to implement punctual programs as per operational needs
  • Ensure adherence to associated contract compliance metrics

Hours of operation & shifts:

  • Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Occasional flexibility to work hours may be required.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or a permanent resident as defined in the Immigration Act with an employment authorization document
  • Able to obtain a transportation security clearance
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Must have post-secondary education in Communication, Human Resources or Business Management, or equivalent combination of related experience.

 

Skills and Proficiencies

  • Excellent communication skills; fluent in written and oral English
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (ex, Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule and execute tasks independently
  • Highly organized in a fast-paced and deadline oriented work environment
  • Desire for service excellence and excellent customer service skills
  • Strong team work abilities and interpersonal skills
  • Attentive to detail and able to think creatively
  • Resourceful, reliable and able to handle stress
  • Ability to adapt with continuously changing objectives and methods

 

Assets

  • Verbal French fluency
  • Experience in the airport environment, resources, security, or operations
  • Experience in dealing with members of a unionized workforce
