NPS -V (Non-Passenger Screening - Vehicle) Screening Point Manager F/T YYZ (Pearson)

We are currently hiring an NPSV SPM to fill a full-time, permanent position at the Toronto Pearson International Airport.

 

Overview:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, General Managers, the NPSV SPM will be the first point of contact for all NPSV functions at Toronto Pearson International.   

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensures checkpoint operations are in compliance with Garda and CATSA's financial, operational and security SOPs, procedures, policies and programs.
  • Monitors checkpoint performance and actively determines shift assignments and reassignment. Manages deployments and approves time records, monitors and manages break deployment.
  • Provides real time information to the Resource Management team in determining overtime whilst liaising with CATSA
  • Communicates clear and specific performance expectations to direct reports and others as required.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, correct and discipline, inclusive of dismissal of screening personnel on conformity to CATSA's prescribed standard of performance, professionalism and uniform attire and other issues as well as adhering to Garda’s standards and policies
  • The sole point of contact and provider for movement of staff from one checkpoint to another and from the terminal(s) to the assigned NPSV Checkpoints, as well as other Garda management and CATSA staff
  • Creates a positive screening experience for non - passengers: ensuring customer service expectations are always met.
  • Collaborates with internal partners and managers to support the attendance management program, including tracking absences, approving leave of absences, claims
  • Ensures compliance with Collective Agreement(s), Internal Policies and Provincial and Federal employment legislation

 

Qualifications:

  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a DA License
  • Must obtain a valid purple RAIC in order to work in the restricted areas
  • Must provide a clean driver’s abstract
  • Must be extremely Flexible, Open to shift work - morning, afternoon, evening, overnight
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of  CATSA SOPs required
  • Minimum 1-3 years Pre-Board Screening or related experience.
  • Supervisory/management experience in a unionized environment an asset
  • Demonstrated abilities to work independently, manage priorities and work well under pressure
  • Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills; fluent in written and oral English
