What does a Security Guard in Winnipeg do?
- Providing uniformed, physical security to our client and its customers/visitors
- Building Interior and exterior patrols with G-Track Device
- Entire site, perform at the beginning of the shift.
- Note all laundry rooms must be locked before 22:30.
- All exterior doors must be secured.
- All elevators must be in working condition.
- Parking patrol
- Note all exterior garage doors must be closed.
- Entire site without laundry
- All exterior doors must be secured.
- All elevators must be in working condition.
- Check doors to laundry rooms, must be locked.
- Parking
- Note all exterior garage doors must be closed.
- Entire site, this patrol must be started 60 minutes before end of shift.
- Unlock all laundry rooms.
- Check all doors and ensure they are closed and not jimmied anyway to allow for entrance
- Conducting daily functions of the security unit including access control, security escorts, responding to calls for service, report writing/note taking and replacement for vacation book offs
- Visible deterrent to any vagrancy, vandalism, and/or loitering. You must be vigilant in patrolling those areas and be visible walking around
- Performing property inspections and enforce property laws, client rules, and other regulations
- Liaising with visitors, customers. and the general public on a consistent basis
- Providing customer service information and assist in handling the questions of visitors
- Maintaining a positive, productive work environment through positive teamwork
Qualifications to become a Security Guard in Winnipeg ?
- Good verbal and written communication skills – English is required; French is an asset
- Previous experience in the security industry (asset)
- Valid Manitoba Security Guard license
- Strong computer skills
- Customer service oriented.
- Must be able to work Overnight shifts
- Leadership and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a stressful environment
- Removal of unauthorized individuals
- Ability to stand on foot and walk for long periods of time
