What you’ll be doing
  • Patrol inside and outside the hospital to ensure the safety of people and property and the maintenance of order
  • Protect patients, member of the public, hospital staff, as well as their belongings and public assets
  • Enforce safety procedures and standards
  • Escort and assist anyone as needed
  • Intervene during emergency / crisis situations
  • Operate video surveillance equipment to supervise activity within a facility
  • Report any abnormality, defect, risk of fire, accident, theft and/or other abnormal situations to the immediate supervisor and put in place the necessary safety features
  • Inventory and inspection of fire protection equipment
  • Write daily reports and incident reports
  • Perform any other tasks requested by your supervisor

What we’re looking for
  • Must have a Valid British Columbia security guard license
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent, higher education is considering an asset
  • Must have a flexible availability to be available for randomized shifts
  • Have PVPC and completion of ATR training, OFA2 would be an asset
  • Above average customer service skills
  • Able to respond quickly to emergency response calls
  • Ability to lead a team and make professional decisions
  • Strong work ethic and professional appearance
  • Physically capable of handling altercations and challenging patience
  • Must be proficient with computers for video monitoring purposes
  • Strong command of English communication skills, excellent written skills and proper grammar is requirement (candidates will be tested)
  • Ability to perform proper radio etiquette
