USD $XXXXXX per annum, to be paid monthly in arrears.

*subject to local tax (if applicable) and less any applicable salary due under any relevant Local Employment Contract.

As the project moves beyond the initial mobilisation phase, your contract will be revised within the next three months to align with GardaWorld’s standard terms. This will include a reduction to your current monthly rate to reflect the long-term pay structure for the project and to bring it in line with country and industry norms. In addition, the current 40-day Home Leave cycle will be replaced by a formal rotational contract, with clearly defined on duty and off duty periods.

Onboarding Fee

USD $218.00 per month, to be paid in arrears.

Home Leave

40 days per 12-month period, subject to operational requirements

Visa Requirements

The Company shall be responsible and liable for the multi-entry visa cost as required to deliver the Services. Any visa costs incurred by the Contractor shall be reimbursed.

Package

GardaWorld will provide the Independent Contractor with appropriate accommodation, insurance, flights, and life support while on duty.

Food, Accommodation and General Expenses:

The company will provide the Contractor with food, drink, transportation, and accommodation as necessary whilst the Contractor is engaged in a project.

If Company is unable to provide the Contractor with food, accommodation, and transportation, except as set forth below for inbound and outbound travel to the project location, Company shall either provide a per diem at an agreed rate or reimburse to the Contractor for any travelling, hotel and other expenses reasonably incurred by him in the proper performance of his duties under this Agreement. In the case of the latter, the Contractor must provide Company with such vouchers and receipts or other evidence of actual payment of such expenses as Company may reasonably require. The Contractor shall seek the prior approval by Company for any individual expenses incurred under this Agreement.

Flight Package

GardaWorld will provide an economy class return ticket per rotation to the project location from a hub airport as close as reasonably practicable to the Contractor’s declared home address. 

The Contractor will be asked to declare their preferences for a primary, secondary, and tertiary hub airport from the GardaWorld hub list at the commencement of their engagement. Where possible and commercially acceptable, GardaWorld will look to book travel to and from one of the preferred hubs.

The Contractor will be responsible for any travel arrangements between the hub airport and their home address.  The Company will pay for any transfers from the airport near the project location or any other intermediate landing location to the Consultant’s accommodation at the project.

Role Requirements

Skills & Competencies:

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and database systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritise in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Understanding of access control principles and digital systems
• High level of professionalism and confidentiality

Essential Requirements:

• 3–5 years’ experience in a security or access control role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity
• Familiarity with photo ID software, biometric tools, and database management
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Valid UK Category C or C1 Driver’s Licence (or equivalent international)

Desirable:

• Prior experience with government, military, or diplomatic contracts
• Knowledge of FCDO or US DoD badging protocols
• Experience with access control platforms (Lenel, C•CURE, Genetec)
• First Aid certification (FPOSi / FREC Level 3)
• Previous military, law enforcement, or government security background

Services

Services provided by the Contractor shall be those typically expected for someone in the position of Badging Technician and include, but are not limited to, the operation and oversight of access control and badging systems to support security operations at Balad, Iraq.
The Badging Technician is responsible for issuing, tracking, and managing identification credentials and ensuring proper documentation and authorisation protocols are adhered to. This role supports base access control integrity by maintaining accurate personnel records, enforcing standard operating procedures, and ensuring a consistent, professional interface between security staff, internal stakeholders, and external visitors.

Services the Contractor can expect to carry out would include:

• Managing the end-to-end badging process for all staff, visitors, subcontractors, and third-party personnel, including identity verification, data entry, and badge production.
• Operating biometric registration systems, photo capture equipment, and digital badging platforms.
• Verifying and validating documentation submitted for access requests, ensuring compliance with local and contract-specific access protocols.
• Maintaining and updating access control databases, personnel records, and audit logs in line with security and compliance standards.
• Liaising with Human Resources, Operations, and Security departments to ensure alignment of badging access with role requirements and security classifications.
• Performing periodic audits and reconciliations of issued badges and access permissions.
• Ensuring timely revocation, recovery, or reissuance of badges when personnel change roles, leave post, or fail to meet access requirements.
• Providing first-line support for access control queries, badge issues, and identity verification concerns.
• Supporting access control point staff and control room teams with updated access information and urgent changes to permissions.
• Adhering to data protection and confidentiality protocols when handling personally identifiable information (PII).
• Training or mentoring junior badging personnel or support staff when required.
• Coordinating with senior site leadership on special access events or large-scale personnel changes.
• Performing any other reasonable tasks as directed by the GardaWorld Project Manager or Access Control Manager in support of contract operations.

This position is essential in maintaining the security integrity of personnel access control systems at Balad, Iraq.
The Badging Technician ensures that all access credentials are issued accurately and in compliance with policy, while upholding the highest levels of professionalism, discretion, and operational readiness in a secure, high-volume environment.
