Travel Pay

Contractors are not entitled to pay while travelling. The first day of pay is the day of arrival in the country of operations. The last day of pay is the day of departure from the country of operations. Regardless of the time of arrival and departure, contractors are entitled to half of the daily on duty rate on the day of their arrival in and departure from the country of operations.

Visa Requirements

The Company shall be responsible and liable for the multi-entry visa cost as required in order to deliver the Services. Any visa costs incurred by the Contractor shall be reimbursed. 

Package

GardaWorld will provide the Independent Contractor with appropriate accommodation, insurance, flights and life support while on duty.

Food, Accommodation and General Expenses:

Company will provide the Contractor with food, drink, transportation and accommodation as necessary whilst the Contractor is engaged in a project.

If Company is unable to provide the Contractor with food, accommodation and transportation, except as set forth below for inbound and outbound travel to the project location, Company shall either provide a per diem at an agreed rate or reimburse to the Contractor for any travelling, hotel and other expenses reasonably incurred by him in the proper performance of his duties under this Agreement. In the case of the latter, the Contractor must provide Company with such vouchers and receipts or other evidence of actual payment of such expenses as Company may reasonably require. The Contractor shall seek the prior approval by Company for any individual expenses incurred under this Agreement.

Flight Package

GardaWorld will provide an economy class return ticket per rotation to the project location from a hub airport as close as reasonably practicable to the Contractor’s declared home address.

The Contractor will be asked to declare their preferences for a primary, secondary and tertiary hub airport from the GardaWorld hub list at the commencement of their engagement. Where possible and commercially acceptable, GardaWorld will look to book travel to and from one of the preferred hubs.

The Contractor will be responsible for any travel arrangements between the hub airport and their home address.  The Company will pay for any transfers from the airport near the project location or such other intermediate landing location to the Consultant’s accommodations at the project.

Role Requirement

• British & Commonwealth passport holders* – see note below
• Minimum junior Non Commissioned Officer or equivalent (command troop corporal, or signaller);
• Operational Planning and coordination an advantage.
• English proficiency (written and oral);
• Good understanding of radio voice procedure;
• Conversant with Iridium, Thuraya and GPS systems
• IT literate; 
• Clear criminal record for last 10 years;
• Ability to operate well under pressure

*All candidates will need to be screened to SC level – or eligible for screening so only British & Commonwealth passport holders can apply. Proviso: You must have been resident in the UK for at least two of the previous 10 years immediately prior to your application, at least one year of which must have been a consecutive twelve month period unless you have served overseas with HM Forces or in some other official capacity as a representative of Her Majesty’s Government, or have lived overseas as a result of your parents’ or partner’s Government employment.

Services

Services provided by the Contractor shall be those typically expected for someone in the Position and  include, but not be limited to the provision of static security services to ensure the safety and security of all client staff and other personnel who come under duty of care of FCDO Baghdad. Services the Contractor can expect to carry out, would include: 

• Man the Embassy Operations Room over a rotating 12 hr period
• Coordinate/monitor all communications traffic for the mobile security teams  when deployed on the ground;
• Coordinate the deployment of Quick Reaction Force and others medical assets in response to an incident within Embassy compound or involving mobile protection teams in conjunction with operations manager/OSM
• Logging  and Upkeep  of all statistical  information required for client
• Plan and coordinate mobile security movements.
• Deal with client queries regarding security movements.
• Daily record and log client movements.
• Liaise with air movements coordinator as required
• Liaise with external agencies daily to facilitate security movements.
• Adhere to ops room SOP’s
• Support OP’s manager in daily security movements.
• Logging and upkeep of embassy headcount.
• Liaise with teams and managers as required locating and plotting venue locations.
• Maintain databases and folders
• Keep receipt of all movement  requests from client
• Undertaking any other direction or reasonable request given by appropriate GardaWorld Management team in accordance with GW Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines
