Fleet Manager, Iraq.

Role Type:

Contractor, GW Consulting Middle East Limited. 8 weeks on, 4 weeks off, subject to operational requirements. Competitive daily rate, contractor only paid whilst on duty. GardaWorld will provide the Independent Contractor with appropriate accommodation, insurance, flights and life support while on duty.


  • Experience in  managing a complex fleet of significant size – ideally in emerging market.
  • Strong strategic commercial fiscal management oversight experience. 
  • Experience in managing Vehicle Servicing Centres (VSC), managing VSC Managers and Local National mechanics employed within the VSCs.
  • Possess high level of accuracy, attention to detail and strong analytical ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and social skills with the ability to demonstrate diplomacy, sensitivity and self-awareness required when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong IT skills (ideally including using / implementing Fleet Management systems).


Reporting directly to the Regional Director, Iraq the Fleet Manager is responsible for the management of all GardaWorld (GW) vehicles across Iraq.  He/she is also responsible for ensuring operational delivery of all GW Vehicle Servicing Centres (VSC) and managing VSC Managers and any Local National mechanics employed within the VSCs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Accountable for over 600 vehicles, providing the day to day authorisations for repair and maintenance, legal compliance and management of our VSCs, 3rd party repair garages and vehicle suppliers. 
  • Responsible for the strategic planning of our fleet, Identifying efficiencies, improvements and innovation analysing data to drive business decisions.
  • Managing and co-ordinating the team of fleet services staff to ensure maintenance is completed to the highest standard.
  • Ensuring all processes are followed and KPI data is produced and accurate in the reporting cycles.
  • Responsible and accountable for ensuring fleet KPIs are reported against and achieved.
  • Proactive in identifying and ensuring the GW fleet meets all legal and client minimum standards.
  • Establishing clear channels of communication to gain feedback from projects, regions on fleet issues.
  • Responsible for accurately capturing all costs associated with fleet maintenance.
  • Undertaking any other direction or reasonable request given by appropriate GardaWorld Management team in accordance with GW Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines.
