Job Outline:

Overview:

Working in Drum Cussac’s (a GardaWorld Company) 24/7 Global Operations Centre in support of live operations and real- time travel security alerting. The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including;

  • Proactive threat monitoring
  • Clients’ (pre & during) travel safety
  • Sourcing and writing travel security alerts
  • Compilation of threat information
  • First responder emergency/crisis response
  • Over watch & coordination of journey management / executive protection / high risk location tasks

Work a rotating 12 hour shift pattern to ensure 24/7/365 operations – 4 shifts on (days or nights) and 4 days off.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide operational and intelligence support to live operations including emergency evacuations, crisis/incident response and journey management tasks
  • Respond to security requests into the Global Operations Centre from deployed personnel, in-country travellers, clients and on-the-ground security teams
  • Utilise a range of sources and software to produce timely security alerts on emerging events worldwide and to address ad hoc intelligence requests from clients
  • Prepare and distribute travel security advice and risk assessments prior to or during client travel to higher-risk locations
  • Proactively monitor the security situation in locations where personnel are deployed and conduct regular checks to confirm the well-being of in-country travellers
  • React to major security incidents by providing immediate assistance and advice, ensuring the safety of potentially affected personnel and producing detailed situation reports for client awareness
  • Conduct regular ship security drills and testing of vessel security systems for maritime clients
  • Ad hoc travel security related tasks as mandated by Global Operations Managers
  • Adhere to Company policies and with particular regard to Information Security and Data Protection

Standby:

  • Every 36 days you will be on standby for 4 x 24hr periods.
  • Routinely, standby will start (0001hrs) the day after a day shift and end (2359hrs) the day before a night shift.
  • You agree to comply with the company Alcohol & Drugs Policy throughout Standby.
  • If you are contacted to work during your standby period you will take over RiskMonitor alerting within 30 minutes and continue (up to 12hrs), until normal operations in the Global Operations Centre can be resumed.
  • There is no need to be in the Bournemouth office; Standby is for remote working (RiskMonitor alerting) only; however wherever you are, you need to ensure you can maintain an internet connection.
  • If there is a time during standby that you are unavailable for a limited period, e.g. long distance drive, day-to-day life, etc. you must email Operations and Ops Manager, explaining why you are unable to cover and the expected time period you will be unavailable.
  • Standby is not for covering Global Operations Centre leave or sickness, it is for times when current manning is overwhelmed operationally and cannot cope with a current/ongoing incident, e.g. OverWatch mass affecting incident, crisis, evacuation related, etc.
  • You will be paid the current overtime rate for Standby time worked.

The Global Operations Officer is accountable to the Head of Global Operations Centre for their responsibilities stated in this job description.

As directed by the Head of Global Operations Centre and as per the GardaWorld Authority Matrix.
