Security Guard, Shopping Centre

We are looking for a Full-time Security Guard to work at a Mall. As a member of the GardaWorld team, your primary role is to ensure the safety and security of client assets, tenants, and visitors to the assignment area professionally and courteously.  

Schedule: Mon – Fri (1400-0000)

Location: 900 Maple Ave, Burlington

Pay rate: $17.55

What does a Security Guard in Burlington do?

• Perform patrols on foot
• Dealing with customers and tenant disputes
• Locking mall entrances
• Provide excellent customer service to everyone on the property
• Work closely with the mall services as well as with the emergency services when appropriate
• Apply property rules and regulations in a fair and responsible manner
• Write daily and incident reports
• Intervene during medical emergencies and provide first aid
• Be prepared to respond to situations of crime, urgency and disturbance occurring at the mall
• Facilitate access to authorized persons to restricted areas
• Monitor closed circuit cameras (if applicable) to ensure proper operation of the shopping center
• Answer and follow up on phone calls received by the security service
• Monitor the fire alarm system and fire extinguisher system

Qualifications to become a Security Guard in Burlington

• Possession of a valid provincial security guard license
• Minimum one year of security guard experience 
• Experience in mall site is an asset 
• First aid and CPR certification
• Valid G/G-2 class drivers license
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of criminal, provincial and federal laws as they pertain to the security industry
