As a Construction Site Security Guard, you will be responsible for protecting active construction sites by conducting patrols, controlling site access, monitoring equipment and materials, enforcing safety and security procedures, and responding to incidents. You'll play a key role in preventing theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, and other security risks while helping maintain a safe and secure work environment for everyone on site.

Responsibilities for Construction site Security Guard
- Conduct regular interior and exterior foot patrols to protect the construction site, personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Respond quickly and professionally to incidents, alarms, emergencies, and potential threats, following established procedures.
- Monitor security systems, CCTV cameras, gates, and access control systems to detect unusual activity and identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Control access to the construction site by verifying visitor, contractor, and employee identification, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premises.
- Enforce sign-in/sign-out procedures and maintain accurate visitor and contractor logs.
- Operate gates, doors, and other access control points as required.
- Conduct routine inspections of fencing, gates, lighting, storage areas, equipment yards, and other critical infrastructure to ensure site security.
- Investigate security incidents, alarms, and unusual occurrences, taking appropriate action and notifying management as necessary.
- Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift reports, documenting all security-related events accurately.
- Assist with deliveries and verify incoming and outgoing materials, equipment, and vehicles when required.
- Enforce site security policies, safety regulations, and company procedures at all times.
- Perform other security-related duties as assigned to support the safe and efficient operation of the construction site.
Qualifications for Construction site Security Guard
- Be authorized to work in Canada
- Hold a valid BC security license
- First aid certification - an asset
- Strong report writing skills
- Good eyesight and excellent ability to maintain focus
- Strong proficiency with technology
- Ability to stand and walk throughout shift while wearing steel toe boots
