Contact and Cooperation:

Internally: Main cooperation with the Managing Director, Head of Technical, Head of Sales, Technical Manager, Senior Operations Manager, and FM Manager, Commercial Director (Regional) and the CST.

Externally: Existing and potential customers, in particular in the Property Design, Financing, Development, Construction and Management space.

Job Summary:

Business Development Manager, Technical Property Services is tasked with Business Development for Technical services in Kenya, with the aim of bringing sales at all levels from inception and design to completion and maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1.            Work in collaboration with all the Directors and Leaders in the Kenya business, in particular Technology;

2.            Organize and implement strategies in the regions for sales growth in collaboration with the Nairobi and Operations Managers through the sales teams;

3.            Lead technical business development/growth/increased profits by acquiring new businesses through the sales teams, in line with the agreed county monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets;

4.            Coordinate and own bids and bid compliance in conjunction with the CST and the MD for technical related business bid submissions;

5.            Comply with Sales growth KPIs as directed from time to time;

6.            Retain and manage existing and new clients through the sales teams, supported by the Operations;

7.            Maintain and build the pipeline for technical services and other strategic opportunities;

8.            Create and manage a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities through the teams;

9.            Participate in the development of marketing and sales strategies, making suggestions on sales/customer retention strategies, service offerings, and market analysis feedback for penetration;

10.          Coordinate and manage required assistance on tender preparation. Ensure that the materials/proposals/quotations getting out to both prospective and potential clients are effective and in line with company policies and procedures;

11.          Work/liaise with all departments to ensure customer satisfaction by coordinating and solving customer’s issues as they arise;

12.          Manage and coordinate a successful implementation of annual price increases for the technical services;

13.          Maintain CRM for own pipeline and sales opportunities, and existing CRM relationships;

14.          Respond to customer surveys with action plans as required.

Principal Outputs of this Role:

i.              Lead in the development of technical sales in accordance with KPIs;

ii.             Retention of business unit portfolio through minimal terminations and new market penetration;

iii.            Effective implementation of set technical business plan and sales targets.

Accountability:

The Business Development Manager, Technical Services is accountable to the Head of Technical for the responsibilities stated in this job description. These responsibilities will be monitored and managed through the mid-year and annual performance review and supported through the monitoring of KPIs.

Qualifications & Experience:

•             Bachelors Degree in Business or related degrees.

•             At least eight (8) years relevant experience, 3 of which should have been at a supervisory level;

•             Knowledge of current trends in marketing management, public relations and communications;

•             Knowledge in market research and product placement; and

•             Tech savvy with good IT skills
