As a Control Room Security Guard, you will be the person spotting threats before they escalate in environments such as security operation centres, call centers, construction sites, parking lots and gatehouses, etc.

Responsibilities for Control Room Security Guard

• Monitor CCTV systems, access control platforms, intrusion detection, and fire/life safety system. 
• Track alarms, suspicious activity, and unususal events, ensuring time escalation. 
• Dispatch security personnel or emergency services when required 
• Document, report, and escalate incidents in acrdance with established SOPs. 
• Maintain communication with field security officers, supervisors and management.
• Log all incidents, alarms and activities into the SOC incident managment system. 
• Prepare clear, accurate, and timely reports for management review.
• Operate SOC technology platforms including access control, video managment, and alarm monitoring systems. 
• Respond quickly to incidents or potential threats
• Control access to secure areas and check visitor identification
• Analyze security systems to identify potential vulnerabilities or malfunctions
• Work with law enforcement in case of serious situations or emergencies

Qualifications for Control Room Security Guard

• Be authorized to work in Canada
• Hold a valid security license
• First aid certification 
• Strong report writing skills
• Good eyesight and excellent ability to maintain focus
• Strong computer and typing skills; proficient with technology
• Experience with monitoring and operation fo video and surveillance systems 
• Minimum 1 year Control Room/Disptach experience
• Must be able to work a rotational position, 12 hour shifts, days and nights
