We are looking for a Human Resources Director for our Security Services division in Western Canada. The position will be based either in Vancouver, Edmonton or Calgary depending on the selected candidate. The HR Director will need to travel frequently throughout Western Canada.

 

Your mission at GardaWorld

The HR Director will be responsible for driving business performance in Western Canada by providing strategic direction, coaching and development to senior operations leaders.

He will collaborate with the regional operation team to deliver initiatives that strengthen organizational capabilities in employee relations, health & safety, talent acquisition and leadership development.

The HR Director will be a dynamic team player with an entrepreneurial vision, who is highly motivated to develop and articulate clear and compelling HR strategies. Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with senior management based on the demonstration of added value related to Human Resources
  • Supports and guides regional management teams with overall HR practices
  • Develop regional HR priorities and build plans that align to business objectives and ensure compliance with regional and national labour law
  • Coach and develop operational capability on employee relations, performance management, goal planning and engagement
  • Implement human resources strategies including labour relations, talent acquisition, health and safety, succession planning, employee relations and retention initiatives
  • Coach and mentor the regional Human Resources team in developing and maintaining strong partnerships with operations
  • Coach and mentor the regional recruitment team in developing strong recruitment strategies and delivering high quality candidates while providing exceptional candidate experience
  • Actively participate in improving the effectiveness of HR practices, to help ensure the achievement of the strategic objectives of the company
  • Create policies, procedures and best practices related to HR needs for Western Canada operations
  • WCB Claims management and escalation (when required)
  • Work with established GardaWorld HR systems
  • Liaise with National HR team members
  • Other related duties

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources and/or CPHR Designation
  • 8 to 10 years of progressive HR experience with large, multi-branch company spread over a large geographic area
  • Strong knowledge of labour laws and regulations in Western Canada (BC, AB, SK, MB)
  • Excellent computer literacy
  • Strong ability to coach, mentor and lead
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and approach

  • Outstanding communicator and influential developer
  • Great team player, sensitive to the organizational needs
