The grounding guard position is a member of the Mobile team. You start your shift in the office and get dispatched to different sites depending on the requirement of different site and clients.

What does a Grounding Guard do?

• Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned properties, including both internal and external areas, to detect and deter potential security threats.

• Incident Response: Respond promptly and efficiently to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies, including fire, medical, or security-related incidents, and take appropriate action.

• Access Control: Monitor and control access points, ensuring that only authorized personnel and visitors are granted entry to the premises.

• Report Writing: Prepare detailed and accurate reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations. Document all security-related events and actions taken.

• Safety Inspections: Perform routine safety inspections to identify potential hazards or security vulnerabilities and report findings to management.

• Client Interaction: Provide professional and courteous service to clients and their employees, addressing any security concerns or inquiries they may have.

• Equipment Checks: Regularly inspect and maintain security equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in good working order and report any malfunctions.

• Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while performing your duties. Ensure compliance with site-specific security protocols.

• Emergency Procedures: Execute established emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and coordination with emergency services when necessary.

Qualifications to become a Grounding guard in Calgary

• Valid Alberta Security Guard license.
• Must have driven through atleast 1 winter season
• An advanced driver’s license.
• Clean driver’s abstracts.
• Shift Timing is Sat and Sun 2300 - 0700 (8 hours) but you must be willing and able to extend your shift to 12hours if needed on both days 
• Must be able to deal with emergency situations.
• Previous experience in the security industry (asset)
• Removal of unauthorized individuals.
