Job Summary:

The International Security Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing security strategies to protect Diplomatic Client’s people, assets, and operations. This role ensures compliance with national and international laws and regulations, manages risk assessments, and coordinates crisis response plans. The manager works closely with the head office, government agencies, and private security partners to mitigate threats such as terrorism, cybercrime, political instability, and natural disasters. The position is tasked with taking a lead to deliver service excellence, attain project profitability, business development and growth, practice effective financial and resources management and ensuing attainment of high compliance culture in the arear of health, safety and environment management in line with set delivery standards

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Management & Client Relations
• Lead daily operations of the contract office, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery.
• Manage client relationships through proactive communication, problem resolution, and oversight of daily issues.
• Oversee new assignments and job start-ups to guarantee smooth workflow.
• Strategic Security Services Management
• Develop and implement project-level security strategies aligned with company-wide programs.
• Ensure compliance with service delivery standards, contractual terms, and risk management frameworks.
• Establish and maintain business continuity programs to safeguard operations.
• Project & Resource Control
• Direct all operational aspects including customer service, technical services, sales, and administration.
• Manage tactical resources and operating equipment, ensuring accurate inventory and minimizing losses.
• Conduct regular reviews of contracts, collaterals, and service standards to maintain compliance.
• Financial Oversight & Budgeting
• Collaborate with the Head of Finance to prepare and manage budgets, targets, and financial forecasts.
• Monitor capital expenditure and implement effective financial controls to ensure profitability.
• Maintain responsibility for all financial impacts related to the contract.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance
• Establish and enforce internal controls, conducting spot checks to ensure adherence.
• Continuously review procedures to simplify processes for staff and clients.
• Ensure compliance with ethical standards, company policies, and Malawian labour laws.
• People Leadership & Development
• Provide training, coaching, and motivation to contract staff, fostering a positive work environment.
• Collaborate with HR to assess capability gaps and design targeted training interventions.
• Manage disciplinary issues fairly and transparently, minimizing litigation risks.

Authority:

As directed and delegated by the Country Manager and Head of Security Operations

Accountability:

The International Security Manager is accountable to the Country Director and  Head of Security Operations for the responsibilities stated in this job description. These responsibilities will be monitored and managed through the mid-year and annual performance review and supported through the monitoring of KPIs.

Competencies/Requirements:

• Must have served in the military or Police at higher rank
• Holds or is eligible for a personal security clearance
• Extensive experience in diplomatic security, preferably in Africa
• Must have EU nationality (or double nationality one being EU)

Qualifications

• Minimum of University Diploma
• Additional Training certificates an advantage
