What does a ADHOC Security Guard do in Edmonton?
- Conduct mobile and foot patrols in various settings to maintain a secure environment.
- Monitor and operate CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control systems while adhering to established security protocols and procedures.
- Interact professionally with customers, employees, and visitors on the property, intervening to resolve conflicts or disputes using effective communication skills.
- Supervise entry and exit points, ensuring restricted areas remain secure through surveillance and access control systems. Observe activities to detect and prevent potential security breaches.
- Respond promptly and decisively to security incidents, alarms, or emergencies, ensuring the safety and security of the property and its occupants.
- Manage difficult or irate callers and effectively de-escalate tense situations over the phone.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience for a ADHOC Security Guard do in Edmonton?
- Valid provincial security guard license
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for clear and effective reporting and interaction with clients and team members.
- Advanced computer skills- experience with data entry and documentation.
- Advanced interpersonal and proactive engagement skills with demonstrating active listening skills by fully focusing on other
- Ability to respond effectively to active threats or violent incidents with speed, precision and decisiveness
- Maintain awareness of surrounding and potential risks
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Criminal justice or police foundations diploma is an asset
- First aid and CPR certification is an asset
- Previous security experience is required, with a proven ability to handle a variety of situations.
- Dispatch experience is an asset
- 1 year minimum of customer service experience
- Willingness to accept shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours, including evenings, weekends, and winter periods
- Must own a vehicle and be willing to travel within Edmonton city limits and surrounding areas, including St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Sherwood Park, and Fort Saskatchewan.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Ability to represent GardaWorld with integrity and professionalism
