We are currently looking for Loss Prevention Investigators to prevent theft in our client sites.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide a cost-effective solution to combat retail crime by reducing internal and external shrinkage
  • Detect and apprehend shoplifters or those committing fraud or other criminal offenses in accordance with section 494 of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Create and retain records of lawful apprehensions as need for court or arbitration
  • Ensure that the client’s safety and emergency procedures are adhered to
  • Support operations and sales teams with possible shrinkage concerns
  • Undertake site specific training and follow direction and guidance from the Loss Prevention Manager/Supervisor or Store Manager
  • Provide excellent cutomer service as needed
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple projects effectively to meet strict deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as being a team player
  • Ability to work collaboratively with store management, other investigative bodies and law enforcement officials
Required Qualifications
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar capacity
  • High School Diploma and Police Foundations Diploma or similar is an asset
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification
  • Capability to travel to different retail locations in Edmonton and surrounding area
  • Must possess a valid SSIA Security or Private Investigators License
  • Strong knowledge of Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act and Powers of Arrest
  • Ability to operate security equipment/systems, camera recording systems, computers and radios
  • Available to work days, evenings and weekends, as schedules may vary

  • Meticulous record keeping, report writing and observational skills
  • Ability to handle multi-tasking in a professional and organized environment
  • Must be able to work with a high degree of honesty and integrity
  • Ability to walk/sit/stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods of time
  • Good physical fitness to make active arrests
