GardaWorld is the largest provider of aviation services for the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA), offering screening services in 28 airports across Canada.

 


We are currently recruiting an Operations Support Partner for the Edmonton Airport, on a permanent part-time basis ( 30hr/week).  Select candidates may be kept in a candidate pool for future opportunities.

 


OPERATIONS SUPPORT PARTNER


As an Operations Support Partner, you are the backbone of the administrative office. You are tasked with various administrative functions such as uniform control, the management of consumable inventory program and role in Health & Safety.

You are an eager learner and strive to become the local go to person.  You want to learn as much from various departments in order to best assist your colleagues. You are proactive and you have an operational acumen to foresee needs and react accordingly. You lead by example and have earned the respect of your peers. You endeavor to personally develop yourself and set your aim for career advancement.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain uniform control documents and place uniform orders
  • Conduct spot audits to ensure controlled uniform items are kept secure
  • Participate in workplace hazard assessments and champion H&S regulations.
  • Maintain consumables tracking and place consumables orders
  • Prepare administrative documents and verify their timely and accurate completion
  • Ambassador for a progressive work environment

Requirements

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident
  • No previous criminal background for which a pardon has not been granted
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related position or field
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance and successfully complete a background check
  • Physical requirements include but may not be limited to occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs and occasional long periods of standing and/or walking

 

Skill Requirements:

  • Strong team work abilities and interpersonal skills
  • Good level of comfort dealing with a variety of customer interactions and escalations
  • Effective communicator with the ability to listen attentively and maintain respectful and cooperative relationships with stakeholders, employees and co-workers
  • Ability to maintain concentration in a hectic workplace environment
  • Highly organized and results driven individual who is able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work within a structured, highly regulated environment
  • Must be able to flexible in working hours to meet operational requirements
  • Full fluency in English

 

Assets:

  • Previous experience in a unionized environment
  • Previous experience working in a federally regulated business
  • Previous experience working on inventory control
  • Previous experience working with health and safety, worker’s compensation and/or as a H&S committee member
  • Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators and Quality Control
  • Aviation Security knowledge and/or experience
  • Fluency in French
