What does a CBSA Tactical Security Shift Supervisor in Etobicoke do?

As a CBSA Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for monitoring people who have arrived at the airport who are experiencing immigration complications and cannot officially enter the country.

In this role you will:

• Assigning guards to their required assignment or post.

• Supervising all guards on duty, whether they are providing for the care and control of individuals at the IHC, day cells, airport, or other satellite offices, conducting transports, verifying departure, or any contracted services

• Ensure the protection of people, assets, and property.

• Escort people within the facility, using restraints to ensure the safety of everybody.

• Demonstrate empathy and compassion and a recognition that you are working with individuals under stress.

• Observe, monitor, and report on behavior of detainees.

• Conduct regular foot patrols - both indoor and outdoor facilities

• Monitor and properly utilize security software and equipment!

• Generate daily incident reports.

• Utilization of tactical training to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations.

This work requires vigilance, efficiency, but also a talent for customer service and compassion as you will be working with people within a vulnerable situation.

Qualifications to become a Security Shift Supervisor in Etobicoke

• A valid Ontario security guard license

• A valid and current First Aid/CPR certificate from a WSIB-recognized training provider

• Canadian citizenship or 5-years permanent residence status

• Minimum high school diploma from a recognized education provider

• Ability to pass a Public Works Clearance and a Vulnerable Sector Check

• Available to work flexible hours, in a full-time capacity.

• 1 year experience working in a vulnerable sector.

• 1 year tactical security guard experience.

• 1 year of experience in supervising a team of at least 10 guards.

• Ability to demonstrate leadership capabilities.

• Experience working in a high-stress environment with quick responsiveness to emergency situations.

• Understanding of the importance of conciseness, security, and safety
