 Garda is currently seeking full-time security guards for our industrial projects. The successful candidate must live in Fort McMurray and have availability to work a seven shift on seven days off rotation.

What does a Security Guard in Fort McMurray do?

• Manage access control, badging through the computer system
• Camera surveillance for access/egress points of people, material, and equipment.
• Greet customers and register visitors as needed
• Act as a first responder in the event of a crisis or emergency
• Perimeter patrols, searches of camps, lay-down areas, storage facilities and Personal belonging including Vehicles, Bags etc.
• Must be able to work in areas that have exposure to height, noise and dusty environment including seasonal exposure to extreme cold/heat.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements:
• Manual dexterity,
  • Standing, walking, bending, and sitting for extended period
  • Heavy lifting up to fifty (50) lbs.
• Ability to understand and follow all site policy and procedures.

Qualifications to become a Security Guard in Fort McMurray

• A valid Alberta security guard license
• Standard first aid level C
• CSO
• Class 5 Driver’s License, no restrictions
• Drivers Abstract (up to 5 years, experience dependent)
• Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test
• Have a clear criminal background
• Be eligible to work in Canada
