GardaWorld is a leader in security services. We are seeking a Temporary Field Health & Safety Advisor to join our dynamic team in Fort McMurray, AB. The role offers the change to make a significant impact and continuous improvement of our Health and Safety systems! This temporary position will be until the fall 2024 with a possible extension.

- Ability to travel to all project locations in support of project requirements
- Computer and numerical literacy, comfort working with data bases and MS office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong team work and time management skills
As a Field Health & Safety Advisor, your duties will include:
- Providing guidance, leadership and support to operations to help our project achieve the health and safety goals and objectives
- Conducting field level safety meetings, worksite inspections, and hazard assessments
- Responding to and conducting field level incident investigations, and concerning hazards in the workplace, conducting safety stand downs and action plan follow ups
- Reinforcement of Garda and client specific health and safety requirements and action items
- Providing relevant and correct health and safety advice, support, solutions and recommendations to our field personnel in a professional, efficient and practical manner
- Proactively reaching out to our field personnel to follow up regarding any advice, solutions, support or recommendations that are given
- Compile reports, data entry, and analysis as required
- Assisting, with writing and revising health and safety policies and related documentation in coordination with the branch office
- Attend meetings and conduct additional tasks as required
Qualifications and Education:
- Certified valid up to date NCSO for Alberta
- CSTS, OSSA or BSO/CSO certificate mandatory
- Alberta Class 5 drivers license, with clean drivers abstract mandatory (non GDL)
- Pre-access drug and alcohol screening required, and continual compliance to a zero tolerance policy in accordance with the Canadian Model for safety sensitive positions
- Additional certification or qualifications within occupational health and safety an asset
- Previous field health and safety advisor experience an asset working on industrial oilsands sites
- Previous security services, and or health and safety experience an asset
- Flexible availability
