Ready to suit up as a Camp Security Guard

Do you have a keen eye for detail and strong situational awareness? As a Camp Security Professional, you will play a critical role in protecting construction equipment, vehicles and project assets in a remote camp environment.

Working overnight shifts, you will conduct mobile patrols across construction sites and designated highway routes, monitor equipment for potential security risks, document asset conditions through photographs and reports, and help prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access. This role requires a high level of independence, professionalism and attention to detail while operating a company vehicle throughout the shift.

  • Schedule: Full-time contract position on a 2-weeks-on / 2-weeks-off rotation, working 12-hour overnight shifts (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM) in a remote construction environment, with accommodations provided and the possibility of a contract extension.

Responsibilities for Camp Security Guard

  • Conduct overnight mobile patrols of construction sites and designated highway corridors.
  • Perform equipment watch duties to protect heavy machinery, vehicles and project assets.
  • Monitor for security threats, safety hazards, suspicious activity and unauthorized access.
  • Take photographs and maintain accurate documentation of equipment and site conditions.
  • Complete detailed electronic reports and communicate observations to site leadership.
  • Operate a company vehicle safely throughout the shift while adhering to all applicable policies and regulations.
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain a professional security presence while working independently in a remote environment.

Qualifications for Camp Security Guard

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada and possess a valid BC Security Worker Licence.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driving abstract.
  • Valid OFA Level 1 - First Aid Certification (required).
  • Valid WHMIS Certification (required).
  • Valid Common Safety Orientation (CSO) (required).
  • Minimum 6 months of security experience, preferably in mobile patrol, equipment watch or remote camp environments.
  • Strong observation, report-writing, and technology skills, including the use of mobile devices and electronic reporting systems.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote construction camp environment and driving for extended periods during overnight shifts.
  • Physically capable of driving, conducting patrols and working outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
  • Highly alert, detail-oriented and able to identify and respond appropriately to security risks, safety hazards and suspicious activity.
