Responsibilities for Industrial Security Guard
- Maintained a safe and secure environment by conducting regular mobile, foot, stairwell, and vehicle patrols to deter and detect security risks.
- Monitored and controlled vehicle and pedestrian traffic at entry and exit gates, including grain trucks and alcohol tanker movements.
- Operated and monitored a card-access door system and CCTV surveillance network of 96 cameras to ensure site security.
- Performed reception and switchboard duties, answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and directing visitors professionally.
- Provided excellent customer service by welcoming visitors, verifying identity, managing access control, and guiding guests as required.
- Enforced property regulations and applicable city by-laws to maintain order and compliance on the client’s site.
- Conducted scheduled vehicle patrols twice daily during evening and night shifts to ensure perimeter and asset protection.
- Responded promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, provided first aid when required, and coordinated with emergency response teams.
- Protected client assets against theft, assault, fire, and other safety threats through proactive monitoring and rapid response.
- Completed accurate daily activity logs and detailed incident reports, communicated security concerns, and performed assigned duties such as mail pickup during scheduled shifts.
Qualifications for Industrial Security Guard
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience in the security industry (asset)
- Holds valid Manitoba Security Guard license
- Be able to wear Safety footwear (CSA or ANSI approved), gloves & safety glasses (supplied by client, Hi Vis Vest /Jacket
- Holds valid Manitoba drivers license with clean driving record.
- Have a reliable vehicle to get to and from work and be able to drive in inclement weather.
- Customer service oriented
- Leadership and problem-solving skills
- Be authorized to work in Canada
- Proficient in basic phone & computer skills
