Position: Industrial Security Guard

Location: 165 Dunlop Drive, Guelph 

Schedule: Shifts are 12-hour shifts from 18:30- 06:30 on a continental rotation.

Hourly Pay Rate: $20.05

What does a Security Guard in Guelph do?

• Access control through the computer system
• Conducting routine patrols
• Access control, logging visitors, trucks and trailers entering/exiting
• Checking temperatures on refrigeration trailers
• Report writing, responding to emergencies and general assistance calls.
• Camera surveillance of access gates and parking barriers
• Greet customers and register visitors as needed
• Manage contractor access as well as access cards
• Perform daily reports and incident reports
• Act as first responder during events, crisis situations and emergencies
• Perform surveillance rounds
• Occasionally escort maintenance in restricted areas
• Unlock and lock certain areas during monitoring rounds and via Lenel systems
• Escort employees late at night, to their car in the parking lot

Qualifications to become a Security Guard in Guelph ?

• Valid Security Guard 
• Valid first aid card
• At ease working as a team and offering excellent customer service
• Must be comfortable with 45 – 60 minutes of periodic exterior foot patrol
