Branch Manager

We are currently hiring a Branch Manager for to oversee our Halifax branch.
Your mission at GardaWorld Cash Services:
Reporting to the Regional VP of Operations, you will be in charge of the Secured Transport team within our Cash Services Division. On a daily basis, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the work of your team and ensuring customer satisfaction.

What you will be doing:
- Continuously review the day to day operations within the branch to optimize resources, improve profitability, and customer service – implementing change where necessary
- Oversee the development and monitor adherence to the branch budget
- Ensure that all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements are met, and that GardaWorld procedures and standards (including health and safety, security, personnel, finance and transport) are consistently applied
- Provide coaching and mentoring to the management team by setting clear objectives, communicating openly, holding regular management meetings, monitoring performance, and taking corrective action, as appropriate
- Ensure that staff maintain a high level of customer care
- Maintain a good relationship between management and the union
- Work with HR, and in a collaborative manner, to apply corporate policies to manage disciplinary matters arising in the branch, including dismissals, grievances, absenteeism, health and safety issues – communicating any changes in terms and conditions to staff on a timely basis
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of information entered into the Branch System database (operational, tracking, and billing systems)
- Conduct investigations, when necessary, in cooperation with internal or external agencies to determine causes of transportation accidents and to improve safety procedures
What we are looking for:
- 5-8 years’ experience in management of unionized employees or equivalent
- Transportation/logistics services industry experience (cash, courier services, etc.)
- Knowledge of best practices in health and safety in a unionized work environment
- Knowledge of WSBC reporting and claim management processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Valid driver’s licence with a good driving record
- Hold a valid restricted PAL (Possession and Acquisition Licence), an asset
- Proven Operations experience in a senior management capacity
- Excellent union relationship management experience
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Highly customer-service and results oriented
- Ability to manage the implementation of strategic objectives
- High degree of integrity, trustworthy
