GardaWorld offers a competitive daily rate (Contractor will only be paid whilst on-duty – no payment made for Off-duty)

Leave Rotation

8 weeks on, 4 weeks off, subject to operational requirements

Travel Pay

Contractors are not entitled to pay while travelling.  The first day of pay is the day of arrival in the country of operations. The last day of pay is the day of departure from the country of operations.

Visa Requirements

The Company will apply for Letters of Invitation on behalf of the Contractor; visa costs incurred by the Contractor shall be reimbursed.

Package

GardaWorld will provide the Independent Contractor with appropriate accommodation, insurance, flights and life support while on duty.

Flight Package

GardaWorld will provide an economy class return ticket per rotation to the project location from a hub airport as close as reasonably practicable to the Contractor’s declared home address.

The Contractor will be asked to declare their preferences for a primary, secondary and tertiary hub airport from the GardaWorld hub list at the commencement of their engagement. Where possible and commercially acceptable, GardaWorld will look to book travel to and from one of the preferred hubs.

The Contractor will be responsible for any travel arrangements between the hub airport and their home address.

Hiring Criteria

Only candidates that meet and are able to demonstrate the below hiring criteria’s will be considered:

  • Thorough  knowledge  of  the  country's  security  environment  with  recent  experience  in Afghanistan and preferably in Kabul;
  • A  professional  career  record  in  information  and  intelligence;  acquiring  security  related information  from  recognised  sources,  with  a  proven  capability  of  producing  threat  and risk assessments based on information received and processed;
  • He/she will be of EU nationality, and have graduated from and served a minimum of 5 years in an EU Member State military or police, ideally with experience of working in intelligence whilst serving. They should have held a minimum rank of NATO rank OR7 or police equivalent;
  • Experience of minimum 1 year in line management of office processing information, with proven experience in project management;
  • Ideally he / she has served in a similar international position in high risk hostile / conflict environment  for  a  minimum  period  of  3  years  consecutively  within  the  past  5  years, attested by reference letters from current and/or former employers;
  • Proven knowledge of radio equipment and radio operational procedures;
  • English  according  to,  at  least,  level   B2   as   defined   in   the   standards   available   at http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/en/resources/european-language-levels-cefr,          some knowledge of an Afghan language would be an advantage;
  • Fully IT-literate in Word and Excel;
  • Valid EU driving licence categories C, C1. Certified as B6 trained;
  • Excellent knowledge in first aid, to be proven through relevant certificates;
  • Note:  The  member  of  staff  occupying  this  post  must  hold  a  valid  personal  security clearance.

Job Duties

The SSIA will manage the daily operations in all of its functions which will include but will not be limited to the below duties

  • The  SSIA  post  is  responsible  for  the  Security  Information  Analyst,  the  Local  Security Information Analyst and the EU Joint Analysis Cell (EUJAC);
  • The SSIA is line manager for the Security Information Analysts and the local Security Information Analyst (LSIA);
  • The EUJAC is tasked under the management of the SSIA, with collecting, collating and analysing open and other sources made available through foreign diplomatic missions and the  NATO  Mission  in  Afghanistan,  to  prepare  and  submit  threat  and  risk  assessment reports,  verbal  briefings  and  presentations,  as  well  as  general  analyses  of  the  security environment of Afghanistan;
  • EUJAC products play a vital part in EU Delegation risk management and mitigation, and have a direct impact on the operational posture and tempo of Delegation work;
  • The EUJAC is always staffed by two EU MS EUJAC Contractor's staff members at all times during daylight / working hours;
  • In conjunction with the ISM, designs, implements and rehearses SOPs and Contingency Plans for the EUJAC;
  • Reports to the ISM on operational matters as well as contract and administrative issues
