Contractors are not entitled to pay while travelling.

Visa Requirements

The Company shall be responsible and liable for the multi-entry visa cost as required to deliver the Services. Any visa costs incurred by the Contractor shall be reimbursed.

Package

Gardaworld will provide the Independent Contractor with appropriate accommodation, insurance, flights and life support while on duty.

Food, Accommodation and General Expenses:

Contractor will be paid a daily per diem for food, drink, transportation and accommodation will be provided whilst the Contractor is engaged on project.

If Company is unable to provide the Contractor with food, accommodation and transportation, except as set forth below for inbound and outbound travel to the project location, Company shall either provide a per diem at an agreed rate or reimburse to the Contractor for any travelling, hotel and other expenses reasonably incurred by him in the proper performance of his duties under this Agreement. In the case of the latter, the Contractor must provide Company with such vouchers and receipts or other evidence of actual payment of such expenses as Company may reasonably require. The Contractor shall seek the prior approval by Company for any individual expenses incurred under this Agreement.

Flight Package

GardaWorld will provide an economy class return ticket per rotation to the project location from a hub airport as close as reasonably practicable to the Contractor’s declared home address.

The Contractor will be asked to declare their preferences for a primary, secondary and tertiary hub airport from the GardaWorld hub list at the commencement of their engagement. Where possible and commercially acceptable, GardaWorld will look to book travel to and from one of the preferred hubs.

The Contractor will be responsible for any travel arrangements between the hub airport and their home address.  The Company will pay for any transfers from the airport near the project location or such other intermediate landing location to the Consultant’s accommodations at the project.

Further information can be found in the GardaWorld Contractor Travel Standard Operating Instruction (SOI), copy will be provided upon acceptance.

Role Requirements

  • Must be driven, adaptable, and flexible to best accommodate operational requirements in highly kinetic environments.
  • Must be a team player, able to live and work closely with operational staff for prolonged periods.
  • Degree in a related subject area preferred, (English, journalism, law, security, intelligence, risk management…)
  • Minimum of five years security intelligence experience.
  • HUMINT training an advantage.
  • SC/ DV clearance an advantage.
  • Must be comfortable working as a standalone Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Ukraine.
  • Must be comfortable working remotely, to meeting deadlines, and may often work unsociable hours.
  • Must be comfortable and capable using IT equipment.
  • Must be fully conversant with MS Office and associated programs.
  • Written and verbal grammar must be to an excellent standard.
  • Must be confident, and capable of creating and delivering presentations to senior clients and staff.
  • Must be able to efficiently research and interrogate information systems and present findings in both verbal and written formats.
  • Must have a current understanding of Ukraine and be willing to fully engage/research prior to deployment, Ukraine’s political and security situation.
  • Monitoring in near-real time the security environment in the area of responsibility through local media, social media or liaison with local security contacts
  • Evaluating, collating, fusing and analyzing security related information
  • Drafting accurate and timely products such as threat warnings, incident reports, casing reports, recce reports, threat and risk assessments, security statistics and trends.
  • Ensuring that leadership, staff, visitors and operational movements are informed of the current threat picture and related risks
  • Establishing a system where the collected security information is standardized, retrievable and actionable.
  • Keeping close coordination and interaction with Gardaworld Regional Risk Analyst.
  • Undertaking of further direction and reasonable requests given by the Gardaworld Senior Risk Analyst as required.  This may include topics of research and presentations as necessary.

Services

Services provided by the Contractor shall be those typically expected for someone in the position and include, but not be limited to, the provision of ops support to ensure the safety and security of all client staff and other personnel who come under duty of care of GardaWorld Services the Contractor can expect to carry out, would include: 

  • GW (CIGS)  Project SME for Ukraine - Tactical to Strategic/Geo-political Risk Analysis.
  • The production/oversight and progression of morning security updates, Daily, Weekly and Monthly RA reports for Ukraine, specifically focused upon client movements and areas of interest.
  • The establishment of security incident databases specific to Ukraine. 
  • Post incident analytical reporting focused on implications, impact, and mitigation requirements.
  • Request for Information (RFI) response.  Area research, topic research, risk identification and mitigation guidance.
  • The production and oversight regarding delivery of imminent threat reports and Spotreps to Ukraine
  • On the ground monitoring of threats to staff/clients and relevant dissemination/guidance.
  • Post incident analytical reporting.
  • Request for Information (RFI) response from the client, and GW staff acting in support of our client
  • Client/GW tasking response.
  • Local liaison and expansion of sources and agencies (SANDA).
  • Client country briefs and area threat presentations.
  • The establishment of security incident databases specific to Ukraine.
  • The collection, collation, and processing of security related data to ensure that Client staff and operational movements are informed of the risks, and that risks are mitigated to best effect.
  • Team briefs prior to deployment (as required).
  • Close coordination and interaction with GardaWorld RMT Risk Analysis Manager (RAM) for Ukraine.
  • Oversight, management, and consolidation of Client venue and route recce reports.
  • The undertaking of further direction and reasonable requests given by the client, the appropriate GardaWorld Client Management team(s), and GardaWorld Senior Risk Analyst as required.  This may include topics of research and presentations as necessary.
