GARDAWORLD CONTRACTOR ROLE SPECIFICATION

Role Type

The Contracting mechanism (Contractor / Employee) rotation, Primary Location and salary structure will be negotiated with the successful applicant. The below Role Specification is indicative based on the standard contractor model.

GardaWorld offers a competitive daily rate (Contractor will only be paid whilst on-duty – no payment made for Off-duty) 

 *subject to local tax (if applicable) 

Duty Rotation

8 weeks on, 4 weeks off, but flexible subject to operational requirements

Travel Pay

Contractors are not entitled to pay while travelling. The first day of pay is the day of arrival in the country of operations. The last day of pay is the day of departure from the country of operations.

Visa Requirements

The cost of all visas required for the execution of the below duties will be covered by the company.

Package

GardaWorld will provide the Independent Contractor with appropriate accommodation, insurance, flights and life support while on duty.

Flight Package

GardaWorld will provide economy class tickets for all travel required in the execution of the below duties to and from a hub airport as close as reasonably practicable to the Contractor’s declared home address.

 

The Contractor will be asked to declare their preferences for a primary, secondary and tertiary hub airport from the GardaWorld hub list at the commencement of their engagement. Where possible and commercially acceptable, GardaWorld will look to book travel to and from one of the preferred hubs.

 

The Contractor will be responsible for any travel arrangements between the hub airport and their home address.

Required Skills

The Manager, Operations Support must have:

·  Previous military experience of not less than ten (10) years within a British Army Gurkha Battalion with an excellent record of conduct. Must not have a criminal record and must not have been dishonourably discharged from service or convicted under the Defence Force Disciplinary Act (1982) (or equivalent) or terminated from employment.

·  At least five (5) years’ experience in the recruitment, training, mobilisation and operational support to deployed TCN guard forces in high threat environments.

·  Fluent levels of written and spoken English, Hindi and Nepali.

·  IT literacy with Microsoft office programs.

·  Demonstrated experience in the management of compassionate, administrative and welfare issues within an Indian sub-continent context.

·  Excellent leadership skills.

·  Experience with static guard force management including risk management planning and qualitative risk analysis.

·  Experience with training and managing Gurkha operational teams and excellent communication skills, with experience in multiple levels of communication between various levels of management, internal and external.

 

Desirable skills also include:

·  Previous experience working in a multi-national corporate environment

·  Previous in-country experience in a similar capacity and

·  Qualifications in the delivery of training (PETTLS, KETTLS or similar)

Duties of Role

The Manager, Operations Support is primarily responsible for supporting the recruitment, mobilisation, training and management (including welfare and administration) of all Indian and Nepali contractors, including:

·  Planning and coordinating all aspects of GardaWorld’s Gurkha operational delivery, across multiple projects and each region as required.

·  Providing advice and input to the bids process with relation to Indian and Nepali guard force structures and remuneration.

·  Co-ordinating the recruitment and mobilisation functions of Indian and Nepali manpower with all external and internal stakeholders. 

·  Manage and coordinate all welfare requirements for Indian and Nepali manpower in coordination with operating-country GFCs, Managers and home country stakeholders as required.

·  Provide operational oversight, support and senior management to all GardaWorld’s GGF personnel deployed globally.

·  Act as the point of contact for GardaWorld's preferred third party manpower provider for all leave rotation and registration matters.

·  Management & Oversight of training, operational delivery and discipline.

·  Co-ordinate interaction between GardaWorld's preferred third party manpower provider and GardaWorld operational regions including but not limited to; manpower requests, invoicing issues, administrative / welfare support requirements etc

·  Support training for project stand-ups as required.
