We are hiring a Firearms Instructor for our Cash Services division at our branch in Mississauga, ON.
What you will be doing
- Plan, organize, and manage the training for use of restricted firearms and use of force to new hires according to the prescribed program.
- Conduct employee training sessions on subjects such as cash in transit, truck theory, defensive tactics, and safe handling of valuables and firearms.
- Train new hires for induction and integration into employment.
- Teach the policies and procedures of the company.
- To collaborate in the activities of supervision and evaluation of learning.
- Stay current with all new legislation and policies.
- Actively contribute to the development of the subject taught and to the process of continuous training of agents in the handling of goods of value.
- Maintain an updated and current inventory of all firearms as well as to carry out the periodic cleaning.

What we are looking for
- Required: valid Restricted and Non-Restricted Firearms License (PAL: Possession and Acquisition License)
- Valid Full G drivers license with a maximum of three (3) demerit points
- Five (5) years’ experience leading to the acquisition and mastery of theoretical and practical knowledge related to the handling of firearms.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in theoretical and practical use and handling of a firearm is an asset.
- Experience as a RSO is an asset.
- Be in good physical condition (the company may require a medical examination and a pre-employment physical examination).
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills (English).
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Have knowledge of the Firearms Act and the Canadian Criminal Code.
- Driven by offering exceptional and ethical instruction to employees.
- Must be available and flexible with regards to your schedules.
- The candidate must demonstrate great judgment, observation, and leadership abilities.
- A strong attention to detail, excellent adaptability both emotionally and circumstantial, and have strong resistance to stress is required.
- Must demonstrate a logical and objective mindset when evaluating candidates during training.
