Forecast Analyst
Location: Toronto, Canada
We are currently looking for a full-time Forecast Analyst at our Mississauga location.
The Forecasting Analyst is responsible for the development, validation, and presentation of demand forecasts within an assigned portfolio. The Forecaster will rigorously document the assumptions upon which the demand forecast is built and compare actual performance against those assumptions to improve forecast accuracy.
The Forecaster will be supporting internal stakeholders by using data collection, data manipulation, standardization, aggregation, reporting, and quantitative analysis processes. It will include obtaining data from internal/ external sources, research and resolving any inconsistencies, reporting the data to end-users, and improving existing business processes with the help of automation.
Responsibilities:
- Proficient in the use of forecasting and model building software.
- Proficient in identifying, applying, and adapting analogs, benchmarks, and order of entry models.
- Maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process
- Manage the daily review and adjustments of ATM forecasts
- Make adjustments to the safety stock levels based on customer demands
- Define data requirements for statistical forecasting and gather and validate information
- Daily monitoring of Packed Orders and Actual Usage, highlighting areas of concern and work with Operations teams on order related issues (i.e. timing, ship dates, order tracking).
- Complete various daily and weekly residual, service level, forecast accuracy and KPI tracking reports.
- Coordinate the collection of data from the point of origin.
- Analyze data to identify missing, incomplete, or invalid information.
- Ensure accuracy of source data by running quality checks; perform statistical analysis to establish accuracy of data entered.
- Manipulate, standardize, consolidate, and enter data for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Deliver final replenishment quantities to Operations team on a daily basis.
- Assist in designing, developing, testing, documenting, and supporting reports and quantitative processes.
- Improving and developing existing or new methodologies for developing models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
- Building and maintaining recommendation algorithms, image recognition, and feature extraction models.
- Analyze data to draw insights to drive critical decision-making.
- Drive further analysis to identify areas of improvement and create an action plan.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one to three years of forecasting, market research, or planning experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, etc.).
- Experience manipulating, cleaning, and analyzing raw data sets to provide strategic insights.
- Strong skills in SQL and with statistics/data tools (Python or R)
- Excellent systems and MS Excel knowledge
- Able to synthesize and communicate complex qualitative and quantitative data; critical thinking required.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work independently.
- Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with key internal stakeholders.
- A self-starter with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
