Job description: 

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Operations, your duties will include:

Assisting the Senior Manager of Operations in planning, organizing, managing and controlling the operations under his/her responsibility, based on the company’s management values: PROFITABILITY, SIMPLICITY, CLIENT BASE, EMPLOYEES AND SECURITY.


  • Determine, implement and control the quality and productivity standards for the various sectors that fall under his/her responsibility.
  • Identifies the routes that require operational follow-ups and makes sure that managers or he/she ensures route supervision.
  • Optimizes, on a day-to-day basis, the road network’s efficiency by consulting the roadmaps, productivity and IT reports while taking the following into account: the collective agreement, security standards, insurance standards, client demands, legal holidays, operating costs, overtime and guaranteed hours.


  • Informs the Senior Manager of any important file that could have an impact on work relations, cause financial losses for the company or lead to a loss of clients due to poor service
  • Ensures, based on the organization’s guidelines, that information is transmitted to all employees under his/her responsibility to cultivate a sense of belonging.
  •  Ensures that the collective agreement and various laws are suitably applied; fosters open discussions and transparency
  • Controls the application of front-line disciplinary measures imposed by his/her managers (verbal notices and disciplinary notices). Takes part in meetings when applying second-level disciplinary measures (notice of suspension). Applies third-level disciplinary measures (3-day suspension or more, or a dismissal) on approval of the Senior Manager
  • Attends various committee meetings and ensures the sound management of disciplinary files.
  •  Makes sure the standards set out in Section II of the Canada Labour Code are applied and works in close cooperation with the Garda consultant in preventing work accidents and occupational diseases.
  • Ensures that his/her mangers are able to carry out an appropriate investigation in the event of a work accident.
  •  Participates, along with the HR department, in the selection process for administrative staff members and oversees staff management (duties, work schedule, vacations, job description, evaluation, training, disciplinary measures, end of probation period).
  • Acts as the co-chair on the Health and Workplace Safety committee and on the Policy Committee.
  •  Coordinates, with his or her coworkers, to make sure a manager attends each FNA to communicate our expectations and the company’s direction to new employees
  • Makes sure performance evaluations for unionized staff are carried out efficiently before the end of the probation period.
  • Ensures that newly recruited administrative employees are properly greeted and integrated.




  • A minimum of 5 years in administration and management of unionized employees
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Be driven by customer and personal service
  • Firearm training / license: If none, contingent of passing all necessary security clearance + courses provided.
