We are hiring a Shop Foreman for our Shop located in Mississauga.



What you will be doing


  • Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and staff members in order to formulate and implement other policies, procedures, goals and objectives
  • Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts and government regulations
  • Promote safe work activities
  • Direct and coordinate, through subordinates, activities of operations department in order to obtain use of equipment, facilities, and human resources
  • Conduct employee training sessions on subjects such as material handling, employee orientation, quality improvement and computer use
  • Participate in disciplinary process or settlements of grievances
  • Supervise and direct the members of the maintenance team (mechanics/technicians)
  • Manage and support member of the operations team with day to day operational duties
  • Follow the schedule of preventative maintenance and annual inspections
  • Diagnose and repair issues on the fleet vehicles
  • Responsible for keeping the equipment according to the company policies and regulations
  • Complete weekly reports
  • Ensure the training of staff
  • Perform all other related duties

What we are looking for


  • Good sense of leadership, structuring, execution, negotiation and judgement
  • Strong teamwork and partnership orientation
  • Sense of urgency, outstanding communication and problem solving skills
  • Strong critical thinking and active listening skills
  • Must have 3-5 years of experience in diagnosing and repairing issues on vehicles
  • Must have 1-2 years experience in supervising unionized employees
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Be driven by customer and personal service
  • Firearm training/license: if non, contingent on passing all necessary security clearance + courses provided
  • Must be Class T certified
