Travel Pay

Contractors are not entitled to pay while travelling. No domestic transit allowance is applicable.

Visa Requirements

The Company shall be responsible and liable for the multi-entry visa cost as required to deliver the Services. Any visa costs incurred by the Contractor shall be reimbursed.

Package

GardaWorld will provide the Independent Contractor with appropriate accommodation, insurance, flights and life support while on duty.

 

Food, Accommodation and General Expenses:

Company will provide the Contractor with food, drink, transportation and accommodation as necessary whilst the Contractor is engaged in a project.

 

If Company is unable to provide the Contractor with food, accommodation, and transportation, except as set forth below for inbound and outbound travel to the project location, Company shall either provide a per diem at an agreed rate or reimburse to the Contractor for any travelling, hotel and other expenses reasonably incurred by him in the proper performance of his duties under this Agreement. In the case of the latter, the Contractor must provide Company with such vouchers and receipts or other evidence of actual payment of such expenses as Company may reasonably require. The Contractor shall seek the prior approval by Company for any individual expenses incurred under this Agreement.

Flight Package

GardaWorld will provide an economy class return ticket per rotation to the project location from a hub airport as close as reasonably practicable to the Contractor’s declared home address.

 

The Contractor will be asked to declare their preferences for a primary, secondary, and tertiary hub airport from the GardaWorld hub list at the commencement of their engagement. Where possible and commercially acceptable, GardaWorld will look to book travel to and from one of the preferred hubs.

 

The Contractor will be responsible for any travel arrangements between the hub airport and their home address.

Role Requirements

The FCO Somalia Operations Manager must meet the below criteria:

 

·         Hold SC security cleared minimum.

·         Be a British passport holder.

·         Hold current and valid C1 Driver's license.

·         Be fluent in written and spoken English.

·         Possess relevant Operational Management of mobile security experience on a similar security project and be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge and understanding of the operational and tactical requirements for mobile armed security operations

·         Possess extensive liaison experience and strong client handling skills.

·         Be able to demonstrate training delivery experience.

·         Possess good level of knowledge and experience of HR processes for the management of a diverse team.

·         Possess knowledge of journey management in a hostile environment.

·         Possess tactful, sound judgement and ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.

·         Capable of leading and commanding the respect of a large body of men and women and be able to exercise discipline and the maintenance of high-performance standards.

·         Progressive management experience in an international environment.

·         Be competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

·         Prior to joining the project and at their own expense, the contractor must provide a completed, signed and stamped GW health questionnaire including HIV test and 12-point drugs test. Health Questionnaire must be completed in line with the authorities’ contract of in line with the GW standard, and HIV & Drugs tests must be done every 3 years.

·         A complete vaccination record as described within the GW health questionnaire.

 

*All candidates will need to be screened to SC level – or eligible for screening so only British & Commonwealth passport holders can apply. Proviso: You must have been resident in the UK for at least two of the previous 10 years immediately prior to your application, at least one year of which must have been a consecutive twelve-month period unless you have served overseas with HM Forces or in some other official capacity as a representative of His Majesty’s Government or have lived overseas as a result of your parents’ or partner’s Government employment.

Services

Services provided by the Contractor shall be those typically expected for someone in the Position and include, but not be limited to the provision of security services to ensure the safety and security of all client staff and other personnel who come under duty of care of FCDO, Somalia. Services the Contractor can expect to carry out, would include: 

 

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the maintenance of an extremely high level of discipline and standards within the Contractor's mobile security team. The Operations Managers will ensure that all Contractor staff meet operational and training standards and fully comply with SOP's. The Operations Managers should produce and maintain KPI's and liaise daily with the OSM as a single direct point of contact.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

·         Full management accountability for operational aspects of delivery of the contract to the Client in Somalia with liaison where needed with the GW Ops Man in Hargeisa Somaliland.

·         To ensure effective Journey Management Process on all client moves.

·         To deliver and oversee effective training in line with the agreed pre-deployment and post deployment refresher training programme.

·         Oversee all compliant GW training

·         Ensure all GW specific paperwork is maintained in line with the GW BMS as directed by the GW compliance team and in line with external accreditation standards

·         As required write individual contractor reports/appraisals 

·         Maintain high standards of customer service.

·         Maintain management accountability/responsibility for all contract equipment.

·         Maintain adherence to and reporting of the contracted stipulated Key Performance Indicators.

·         Proactively meet the changing requirements of the Client.

·         Comply with all Client and GW reporting requirements.

·         Co-ordination and cooperation with other organisations working with BEM and any satellite stations.

·         Undertaking any other direction or reasonable request given by appropriate GardaWorld Management team in accordance with GW Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines.
