Role Overview (People Leadership Role)

The Manager, Bids & Proposals is a people management role responsible for leading, developing, and overseeing the performance of the proposal and RFP team.

This role is accountable for the end-to-end management and execution of strategic bids and complex RFPs, ensuring consistent quality, compliance, and on-time delivery across Canada. Acting as the central point of accountability, the Manager coordinates cross-functional contributors and translates GardaWorld’s integrated security capabilities into compelling, differentiated customer-facing proposals.

By strengthening proposal governance, structure, and execution discipline, this role enables Sales teams to focus on client engagement and growth while ensuring a strong, consistent commercial narrative in the market.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Team Leadership & Management :

  • Lead, coach, and develop the proposal writing and content team
  • Set priorities, allocate workload, and establish quality and delivery standards
  • Support onboarding, performance management, and capability development of team members

2. Strategic Bid & RFP Execution :

  • Own the end-to-end execution of strategic RFPs and major commercial proposals, from intake to submission
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements, internal standards, and approval processes
  • Apply structured project management to complex, multi-stakeholder bids

3. Cross-Functional Coordination :

  • Coordinate contributions from Sales, Operations, Finance, HR, Legal, Technology, and other subject-matter experts
  • Facilitate collaboration while maintaining accountability, timelines, and decision clarity

4. Content, Messaging & Quality :

  • Govern proposal content, templates, and value narratives
  • Ensure alignment with GardaWorld’s integrated security solutions, operating capabilities, and differentiators
  • Maintain consistency, professionalism, and clarity across all submissions

5. Continuous Improvement & Insights :

  • Drive improvements in proposal quality, speed, and consistency
  • Leverage tools and AI-enabled solutions to accelerate drafting and content reuse
  • Track win/loss outcomes and extract insights to strengthen future proposals

Work Environment :

This role operates in a hybrid environment, based primarily out of GardaWorld offices, with regular collaboration across regions and functions. Flexibility is required to support proposal timelines and business priorities.

Required Experience & Profile :

  • 5–8+ years of experience in proposal management, RFP leadership, or strategic B2B bid environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading or managing a proposal or bid team
  • Strong understanding of commercial value propositions and solution-based selling
  • Excellent written communication, structuring, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Experience with proposal management and CRM tools
  • Bilingualism (English and French): Full professional proficiency in English and French, both written and verbal, is required.
