We are seeking an experienced Advisor to manage WSIB claims from our Montreal head office. 


Your mission at GardaWorld: 
The WSIB Advisor works with the Human Resources Department in conjunction with the National Director, OHS & disability to facilitate WSIB for the Central & Prairie Region and contributes to attaining the regional goals for WSIB claims. The advisor will also be responsible for the effective and efficient management of claims ensuring optimal customer service and achieving professional and productive results.


Main responsibilities

  • Managing all Workplace Safety Insurance (WSIB) claims, including return to work programs
  • Insuring follow-ups with WSIB to monitor account and claims 
  • Monthly meetings with the National Director regarding claims, understanding NEER to ensure the company is protected from financial costs of claims or high number of costly claims
  • Update WSIB tracker
  • Follow up with Employees on WSIB files and accommodate employee until they are able to return to regular duties
  • Offer modified work to employees who have experienced an injury at work via modified work letter - mail and email the letter to the SO
  • Consults with labour relations expertize to support day to day collective agreement issues, grievance investigation and resolution with management and the union up to preparation for arbitration as it relates to WSIB
  • Other duties as assigned

Candidate Profile

  • University degree or college diploma, in Human Resource or equivalent experience
  • 4 - 8 years experience in Human Resources and WSIB Case management
  • Demonstrate understanding of employment-related legislation such as: Canada Labor Code, WSIB and Ontario Human Rights Code
  • Strong knowledge of WSIB practices
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multitask and produce results in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility in schedule with the ability to work outside of regular office hours
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Visio and PowerPoint
