We are currently hiring an individual for the role of Performance Specialist-Ottawa Airport

 

Reporting to the General Manager, the Performance Specialist is responsible for directed oversight on all screening positions, procedures and officer conduct as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), GardaWorld internal policies and client expectations. This role requires a thorough understanding of all internal and external policies to ensure daily adherence. In addition, this role manages all internally documented incidents of SOP and procedural non-compliances. The role is critical in ensuring excellence in daily operations and meeting corporate standards while ensuring safety of travelling public

 

General Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct daily oversight of screening personnel at all checkpoints to ensure compliance in procedures as outlined in GardaWorld’s internal policies, Business Management System, CATSA SOP etc. 
  • Assess, observe, investigate, record, and if required coach screening personnel performance and/or behavior 
  • Intervene and coach/correct immediately if parts of the screening process were not completed or if critical aspects of the screening process were performed incorrectly 
  • Investigate and address all client or internally documented performance events 
  • Conduct internal investigations including but not limited to breach, infiltration tests liaise with MSQ, security events, training events, and/or professional conduct events 
  • Review, organize and manage all Management Oversight Event Reports (MOER) in a timely manner 
  • Assist in managing absenteeism, loss control and disability activities 
  • Issue discipline including verbal warning, suspensions, as per internal and Collective Agreement processes in a timely manner while maintaining records and documents 
  • Work closely with Human Resources  and provide recommendations as required for work performance related action items 
  • Ensure relevant documents are completed in a timely manner and accordance to internal and client standards while maintaining document integrity
  • Participate in GardaWorld internal employee recognition programs 
  • Assist in Labor Relations and Grievance Resolution meetings and tasks 
  • Promote open, timely and frequent communication with all team members 
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and provide follow-up, positive and constructive feedback 
  • Respond to all general inquires regarding employee performance records and other HR inquiries 
  • Other duties as assigned 
     

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Post secondary education or commensurate experience in Human Resources or Performance Management
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset  
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 fast paced environment 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook) 
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter 
  • Demonstrate understanding of employment related legislation such as Canada Labour Code and Occupational Health and Safety Act 
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work. 
  • Experience and knowledge of aviation industry is an asset.  
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset
