Operations Manager

Operations Manager

Reports to:  Regional Manager, Eastern Ontario

Purpose of Position

This position will manage the day to operational staff. The successful applicant will need to have previous experience in the security industry and possess superior communication and leadership skills.

Work Environment

The individual will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with varying levels of stress depending on activity levels and business needs. This position will be based out of Peterborough, Ontario.  

 

This position will be hybrid with travels as necessary to the client sites.

Structure and Relationship

This position reports to the Regional Manager, Eastern Ontario and works closely with Regional Managers, Schedulers and HR Advisors to provide world class service to our clients.

Required Skills

The incumbent will require the following skill set:

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in the security industry
  • Exceptional people/customer service skills
  • Proven ability to take initiative
  • Must possess high energy
  • Professional with great attention to detail
  • Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects
  • Proven to be well organized and confident
  • Preference will be given to candidates who possess supervisory experience within a unionized setting along with scheduling/dispatch experience

Task Related Objectives

  • Ensure resources are appropriately and efficiently allocated to sites and that priorities are always covered adequately without overtime;
  • Maintain a database of quality event employees, and update information as needed;
  • Attend requests, ensuring all details are communicated and confirmed appropriately to event staff
  • Updating vacation requests of field staff, and ensuring that there is adequate coverage to maintain services at all times;
  • Ensure performance and attendance issues are addressed at the correct time, in accordance with GardaWorld’s policies and procedures
  • Provide coaching and counseling to field staff while working with Human Resources to Initiate, co-ordinate and enforce all company policies and procedures
  • Drive efficiencies throughout the operation in conjunction with the Regional Managers, Schedulers, and Recruiters
  • Help new hires navigate the uniforming and employee engagement process.
  • Support Regional Management as required.
