We are currently seeking an Airport Operations and Security Lead (OSL) to support the safe, secure, and efficient daily operations of the airport terminal and surrounding facilities. This role plays a critical part in coordinating communication between tenants, stakeholders, and emergency services while ensuring airport safety, operational continuity, and exceptional customer service.
This is a high-responsibility leadership role that requires strong decision-making, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Training
Candidates must successfully complete all required training levels to achieve the Operations and Security Lead designation. The selected candidate will receive accelerated training to prepare for the role.
Responsibilities for Airport Operations and Security Lead

Operations & Communication
- Maintain and coordinate communication between airport tenants, partners, and stakeholders to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Provide real-time operational updates during incidents while delegating tasks to on-shift security teams
- Manage key operational programs including:
- Gate Management
- Irregular Operations
- Snow Desk operations
- Apron Management Plan
- Parking and Ground Transportation operations
Safety & Security
- Implement and enforce airport security protocols to protect passengers, staff, tenants, and facilities
- Respond to all safety, security, and operational emergencies
- Assist first responders and emergency services when required
- Liaise with law enforcement and aviation partners regarding airport security matters
- Manage the Airport Security Business Continuity Plan
- Oversee security systems including CCTV, alarms, and access control
- Conduct daily audits of contractor keys, passes, and airside escort requirements
Emergency Response
- Act as Chief Emergency Warden (CEW) during ATB evacuations
- Support the RAA Emergency Response Plan under the direction of the Emergency Response System (ERS) or Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Director
- Provide incident response coordination during airport emergencies
Airport Infrastructure & Systems
- Monitor and oversee daily operations of critical airport systems including:
- Passenger bridges
- Baggage handling systems
- Security infrastructure
- Parking systems
- Overhead doors
- Identify and report maintenance or repair requirements for airport infrastructure and technology
- Coordinate after-hours response for system disruptions
Customer Experience & Stakeholder Relations
- Build strong professional relationships with airport tenants and partners
- Collaborate with departments at the airport
- Provide exceptional customer service to passengers and airport tenants
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements based on feedback
Compliance & Incident Management
- Conduct inspections to ensure cleaning services and operational standards meet airport requirements
- Investigate incidents and accidents under the Safety Management System (SMS)
- Document incidents and implement short-term corrective action plans
Qualifications for Airport Operations and Security Lead
- Full Class 5 Driver’s License
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Excellent time management and decision-making skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Have 2–5 years of experience in operations, site supervision, or a similar leadership role, preferably within security, transportation, or a regulated environment.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- This position requires Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency due to contractual obligations with our client.to cleara Transport Canada Clearance
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to de-escalate difficult situations and manage challenging conversations
- High level of professionalism and maturity
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement skills
- Comfortable working in a high-demand operational environment
- Ability to remain informed and respond to current operational events in real time
