GardaWorld is looking for a security professional to fill the role of Operations Manager in Sudbury. You have worked previously as a security guard and security supervisor in the field so that you can draw from your boots on the ground experience to lead and manage staff to success and interact with clients and stakeholders with professionalism and knowledge. You will have experience managing schedules and operations, mobile services and staff in a unionized environment working closely with the Account Managers to ensure that the sites are running smoothly and that the client is receiving the expected level of service both from the guards and the management. 

The Operations Manager will be based out of our Sudbury Office but will manage the operations and travel to all our locations both in and outside Sudbury. This position will manage staff from North Bay up to Timmins and Sault Ste Marie and will be an integral part of the growth of GardaWorld in Northern Ontario. The Operations Manager will also assist with recruitment for the portfolio of accounts and assist in ensuring that guards meet and exceed expectations. Regular site visits will be required to ensure policy adherence and to provide a positive presence for guards and clients. 

 

The hours of work are Monday to Friday 0900-1700 however flexibility to be available outside these times is required on an as needed basis as security is a 24/7 based environment. The position is based out of our Sudbury office with the expectation of driving to remote sites as needed.

What does an Operations Manager in Sudbury do?

  • Plan, direct and ensure the smooth running of operations for the Sudbury Branch and Portfolio of clients

  • Develop and implement procedures and policies for security operations 

  • Manage Staff performance

  • Interact with clients 

  • Scheduling, Recruitment and any other operational requirements as needed

  • Travel to accounts as far as Timmins and Sault Ste Marie. 

Qualifications to become an Operations Manager in Sudbury

  • 1 to 3 years experience in personnel management in a unionized environment 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English an asset) 

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook 

  • Valid security guard license and first aid card 

  • Available to work flexible hours  

  • Have a clean criminal record  

  • Be eligible to work in Canada

  • Previous experience in a Security support role, Security Supervisor role and Security Guard experience.
