As a Transportation Station Security Guard, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift, patrolling to keep the environment safe.

Responsibilities for Transportation Station Security Guard

• Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols to deter potential threats and ensure site security
• Monitor and secure all access points, ensuring doors are properly closed and not tampered with
• Manage access control and verify identification as required
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies and security incidents
• Provide professional and courteous customer service to visitors, and staff
• Gather critical information during emergencies and coordinate appropriate response
• Communicate clearly with emergency services and security personnel when required
• Provide guidance and instructions over the telephone or in-person during crisis situations
• Complete accurate incident reports and daily logs
• Participate in ongoing training and demonstrate proficiency with security technologies and systems
• Remain on-site beyond scheduled shift when required due to operational needs (e.g., train delays)

Qualifications for Transportation Security Guard

• Valid Manitoba Security Guard License (required)
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Strong customer service orientation
• Comfortable using technology and willing to complete required system training
• Excellent verbal communication skills, especially in high-pressure situations
• Strong crisis management and decision-making abilities
• Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies
• Reliable transportation or ability to access site via public transit
• Availability for extended shifts when operationally required
• First Aid/CPR certification considered an asset
• Physically fit with the ability to:
  • Walk and stand for extended periods 
  • Navigate stairs and large areas
  • Work in varying weather conditions
