Responsibilities for CBSA Security Guard

• Ensure the safety and security of individuals, property, and assets within the facility

• Escort and supervise detainees, using restraints when necessary for safety

• Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and respect when dealing with individuals under stress

• Observe, assess, and report detainee behavior or incidents promptly

• Conduct frequent indoor and outdoor patrols and wellness checks

• Respond quickly to emergencies using tactical de-escalation techniques

• Maintain detailed incident and daily activity reports

• Operate security software and equipment effectively

Qualifications for CBSA Security Guard

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License

• Valid First Aid & CPR Certification

• Advanced Security Training (AST) – an asset

• Canadian Residency: Must have lived in Canada for the past 5 years (Permanent Resident or Citizen)

• High school diploma or equivalent (proof required)

• Ability to obtain Public Works Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a tactical or high-risk security environment

• Strong decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills
