As a casual Security Guard, your role will vary depending on the day and special event. Whether it’s customer service, patrols, or surveillance, we need you to adapt with agility and precision for our client in an industrial environment, located in Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon, and North York.

Responsibilities for Casual Security Guard
Candidates will be required to be trained and pick up shifts on all of the below mentioned types of shifts and locations:
Gatehouse:
Meet and greet truck drivers, and visitors and manage inbound and outbound traffic in a gatehouse environment. Complete checks of the vehicles entering and exiting the property to ensure compliance with site security requirements by entering data into logistics management software, and validating and sealing trailers. You will report to the site’s security compliance officers, supervisors, and management team. To highlight all breaches of security procedures and internal crime/shrinkage. Maintain daily security events/activity logs.
Yards:
You will be responsible for patrolling and detecting any suspicious behaviour and preventing, thefts or other criminal behaviour in the busy distribution centre environment. Monitoring and patrolling perimeter, using a specialized scan point system and checking for compromised fence lines and suspicious activity and reporting it in real-time.
Inside post:
Manage access control using various systems, monitor CCTV, validate and create access for employees and visitors. Receive incoming emergency and non-emergency calls. Initiate the appropriate response in a timely manner including connecting and transferring the caller to the right person. Operate with various computerized communication devices and associated equipment to receive, assess and relay information from the public to security personnel courteously, professionally, and expediently. Remain calm under pressure and be able to multitask during high call volumes from telephone and radio communications. Be able to prioritize and dispatch accordingly. Problem solve on the go utilizing tools and training you’ve acquired
Qualifications for Casual Security Guard
- Be authorized to work in Canada
- Hold a valid Ontario Security license
- First aid certification
- Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing situations
- Responsive and strong problems solving skills
- Experience in gatehouses is an asset but not required
- Experience monitoring CCTV in a control center environment is an asset
- Candidates MUST have open availability 7 days a week, as they will be required to be on call to pick up shifts
