GardaWorld's Toronto branch is currently hiring a Human Resources Manager for our Security Services business line. The Human Resources Manager will work with internal management team to provide day-to-day support, as well as be a key player in the development and execution of HR policies. The ideal candidate posses an unwavering commitment to establish and evolve professional and collaborative relationships and has proven ability to handle sensitive issues with diplomacy and integrity, ensuring all decisions made align with the company's objectives and culture.

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of the human resources department.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies and initiatives that align with the overall business strategy.
  • Provide strategic guidance and training to managers on best practices for addressing employees including handling disciplinary actions, terminations, progressive discipline, and conflict resolution.
  • Bridge management and employee relations for unionized and non-unionized employees by addressing grievances, arbitrations or other issues.
  • Provide coaching, development, support, and direction to the human resources team.
  • Develop strong partnerships with all levels of internal and external business associates.
  • Perform related duties in support of the day-to-day work. 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors degree in human resources or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience driving results in the labour relations and/or human resources field.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing a team.
  • A strong understanding of labour relations, policies and procedures, employment legislation (work experience with Federal and Provincial legislations is ideal), and collective agreements is also required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with employees at all levels.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of implementing HR initiatives that drive organizational success.
