As a Surveillance Security Guard, you will be the person spotting threats before they escalate in environments such as security operation centres, call centers, construction sites, parking lots and gatehouses, etc.

Responsibilities for Loss Prevention Security Guard

• Monitor and control access at the front entrance; no routine patrolling required.
• Verify employee access using the application and contact management if access is disputed.
• Conduct regular receipt checks in accordance with store policy.
• Observe for theft, concealment, loitering, misconduct, and suspicious activity.
• Report incidents and communicate with supervisors.
• Issue verbal trespass warnings when appropriate and assist with removing repeat offenders alongside management.
• Maintain awareness of high-risk areas.
• Manage customer line-ups and store access during busy periods while keeping neighbouring entrances clear.
• De-escalate aggressive or disruptive customers and involve management when required.
• Remain at the post until the last customer leaves and assist with securing the entrance.
• Communicate with staff when leaving the post for a break so coverage can be arranged.
• Maintain a professional, alert, and hands-off security presence at all times.
• No personal phone use, scrolling, or watching videos while on duty.

Qualifications for Loss Prevention Security Guard

• Valid Security Guard Licence required.
• Retail security or loss prevention experience is an asset.
• Strong observation and communication skills.
• Ability to remain alert and professional for extended periods.
• Strong conflict-resolution and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to follow site procedures and communicate effectively with management and staff.
• Reliable, punctual, professional, and customer-service oriented.
• Comfortable working in a busy retail environment and managing large customer line-ups.
• Being able to stand throughout the shift.
