Recruitment Specialist - YOW

We are currently looking for a Recruitment Specialist for our operations in Ottawa, Ontario.
The Recruitment Specialist, reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, is responsible for the complete recruitment cycle for all unionized and non-unionized positions. The ideal candidate would work closely with management to ensure that the right talent is sourced as per the organization’s needs. In addition, they would be responsible for organizing and preparing for recruitment events as well as single position recruitment.
TASKS AND DUTIES
- Responsible for the planning, co-ordination and execution of full cycle recruitment and selection processes for all unionized positions
- Work closely and effectively with other departments and management to define and agree on recruitment requirements
- Pre-Screen applicants and review resumes and qualifications to determine suitable candidates that meet minimum requirements
- Organize and execute pre-employment aptitude testing as per client requirements
- Conduct and verify background and reference checks in addition to maintaining a tracking system of this information
- Drafting and ensuring deliverance of disqualification letters
- Ensure consistency in process including interviews, collection of forms, and maintenance of documentation and candidate files
- Ensure recruitment compliance in accordance to the Quality Manual in terms of the full cycle process, document control and confidentiality.
- Participate in both scheduled and ad hoc audits performed by both GardaWorld and the client
- Liaise with Airport Authority/Transport Canada ensuring authorization for Transport Canada Security Clearances as well as Restricted Area Identification Cards in order to manage the process for new employees
- Ability to travel as needed
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Post secondary certification or related discipline in Human Resources or Talent Acquisition
- 2-3 years of high volume recruitment experience
- Applicant must have strong analytical skills, strong attention to detail, process improvement skills and project management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and produce results in a fast paced environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Visio, PowerPoint as well as experience using an applicant tracking system
- Strong leadership, decision making, and problem solving abilities
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours to meet operational requirements
