What does a Security Guard in Downtown Toronto do?
- Implement and enforce access control measures to regulate entry to restricted areas.
- Monitor surveillance systems and employ tactical approaches to identify and address potential security threats.
- Provide security escorts for individuals or groups, ensuring their safe movement within the premises.
- React promptly to any signs of potential security risks during escort duties.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to calls for service, addressing security concerns and emergencies.
- Follow established protocols and coordinate with relevant authorities as needed.
- Administer first aid and emergency assistance when required.
- Stay updated on first aid procedures and maintain readiness to handle medical emergencies.
- Detect and challenge unauthorized or suspicious persons within the premises.
- Employ conflict resolution skills and take appropriate actions to ensure the safety and security of the environment.
Qualifications to become a Security Guard in Downtown Toronto
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid Ontario Security Guard License and First Aid Card approved by WSIB .
- Available to work flexible hours, specifically Nights and Days on Continental Rotational schedule.
- Use of Force Certified (Asset)
- Ability to commute to the site in Downtown
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- There are no specific educational requirements, but a high school diploma or equivalent is typically preferred.
- Proficiency in English is important, as communication skills are crucial in the role.
