What does a Security Guard in Downtown Toronto do?

• Implement and enforce access control measures to regulate entry to restricted areas.
• Monitor surveillance systems and employ tactical approaches to identify and address potential security threats.
• Provide security escorts for individuals or groups, ensuring their safe movement within the premises.
• React promptly to any signs of potential security risks during escort duties.
• Respond promptly and efficiently to calls for service, addressing security concerns and emergencies.
• Follow established protocols and coordinate with relevant authorities as needed.
• Administer first aid and emergency assistance when required.
• Stay updated on first aid procedures and maintain readiness to handle medical emergencies.
• Detect and challenge unauthorized or suspicious persons within the premises.
• Employ conflict resolution skills and take appropriate actions to ensure the safety and security of the environment.

Qualifications to become a Security Guard in Downtown Toronto

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• A valid Ontario Security Guard License and First Aid Card approved by WSIB .
• Available to work flexible hours, specifically Nights and Days on Continental Rotational schedule.
• Use of Force Certified (Asset)
• Ability to commute to the site in Downtown 
• Applicants must be  legally entitled to work in Canada.
• There are no specific educational requirements, but a high school diploma or equivalent is typically preferred.
• Proficiency in English is important, as communication skills are crucial in the role.
