JOB TITLE:                           Short Term Resource Planning Specialist

 

REPORTING TO:                Regional General Manager Resource and Planning

 

 Job description

 Reporting to the Regional General Manager Resource and planning, is responsible for the effective and efficient short planning management of all of Garda screening officers at YYZ, with the qualified candidates possessing strong communication, planning, multitasking, and computer skills.

 

Tasks and duties

  • Actualize the station short term plans with the assistance of the Regional General Manager Resource and planning, populating the provided schedule lines with appropriate employee names, adjusting for known short term absences (7-day plan)
  • Plan Screening Personnel deployment levels in relation to anticipated airport hours of operation and passenger volumes on short term basis (7 days or less).
  • Respect collective agreement in planning cycle.
  • Coordinate Screening Personnel scheduling and attendance (OJT) with the training department
  • Identify the needs for recruitment due to all factors of attrition.
  • Release the schedule to the Regional GM Resource and planning a minimum of 2 days prior day of operations.
  • Proven team player with ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and “hit the ground running”.
  • Prioritizes work functions and communications to and from the areas of responsibility and follows through with information to get desired results. 
      
    Education and skills required
  • A university degree or college diploma, preferably in human resource, is required or equivalent experience
  • Takes directions well and atention to details is a key.
  • Strong computer skills – with an advanced level of Microsoft Excel is a must.
  • Strong leadership, decision making, and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work shift work in a 24/7 environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and produce results in a fast paced and stressful environment.
