As a Tactical Security Guard in a healthcare environment, physical ability and mental resilience are essential. You will be on your feet throughout your shift, conducting patrols, supporting patient watch duties, and interacting with patients, visitors, and staff. This role requires professionalism, empathy, and the ability to manage individuals experiencing mental health challenges, substance use, or aggressive behaviour.

Responsibilities for Tactical Security Guard

• Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises to ensure a safe and secure environment
• Perform patient watch duties, maintaining constant observation and ensuring safety
• Demonstrate empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients and visitors
• Monitor and respond to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, substance use, or distress
• Identify and de-escalate potentially aggressive or high-risk situations using approved techniques
• Control access to restricted areas and verify identities when required
• Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, and emergency codes within the hospital
• Complete accurate and detailed incident reports
• Work collaboratively with hospital staff and emergency responders when required

Qualifications for Tactical Security Guard

• Be authorized to work in Canada
• Hold a valid security guard license
• First Aid & CPR certification required
• Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with vulnerable populations in a tactical or healthcare security setting
• Strong communication skills with the ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
• Ability to work 12-hour continental rotational shifts (days & nights)
